Line-by-Line Close Reading of The Openings Revealed in Makkah (Book 3 of Volume 2) - continuation (Round 11)

This unique class is designed for the community to learn how to read The Openings Revealed in Makkah in shura (gathering the honey in community).

In 2022, we started with the first sentence of the English translation of Book 1 of The Openings. Now, we are at Book 3. We are inviting you to join an on-going class, a class with no beginning or end.

We are reading line by line, the way that Ibn al-ʿArabī dictated to and taught his small groups, page by page to the end (inshāʾAllāh). Participants prepare the readings in advance. On the live session, those who volunteer to read aloud will do so.

Course length: 3 months.

A total of 6 sessions (1 hour, 30-minute Q&A); we are meeting every other week. After that, there will be a new registration for a continued reading.

Course material: Please use The Openings Revealed in Makkah as a textbook. The published Volume 2 (hardback) or Book 3 of the Taschenbuch Series (softback, Books 1-10) are available now in our bookshop; we have a PDF viewer only for Books 1 and 2 available for earlier Rounds 1-7.

Pre-requisites: None. This course is for all levels and the course is conducted in English.
